Make sure to get the gas and electric service switched into your name before closing. In the Flathead Valley, you’ll typically call Flathead Electric for electricity and Northwestern Energy for gas service.
Don’t wait until the last minute to schedule TV and internet installation—most providers require an appointment, and availability can be weeks out. Call as soon as possible to ensure everything is set up when you move in.
You'll also need to arrange for water and trash service to be transferred into your name before closing.
Ensure all utilities are set to start on your closing day so there’s no disruption when you move in.
